HPNA signs on to National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care comment letter on the Fiscal Year 2027 Hospice Proposed Rule
On June 1, the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care, of which HPNA is a member, sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) commenting on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Hospice Hospice Wage Index and Payment Rate Update and Hospice Quality Reporting Program Requirements Proposed Rule.
The NCHPC represents 14 leading professional organizations dedicated to advancing access to high quality care for serious illness. The Coalitions’ member organizations represent the interdisciplinary workforce that delivers palliative care and hospice care, including: more than 7,000 nurses, 5,500 physicians, 1,000 physician associates, 7,000 nurses, 5,000 chaplains,
8,000 social workers, researchers, and pharmacists, along with over 1,800 palliative care programs and 5,300 hospices.
In addition to comments on the hospice payment update and quality reporting requirements, the letter includes a response to CMS’ request for information on improving access to palliative care services outside hospice. Read More.
