HPNA is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for the 2027 HPNA Conference, which will be held September 22-24, 2027 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld®.
HPNA is proud to host a transformative educational conference designed specifically for the following nurses in hospice and palliative care:
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
- Registered Nurses
- Licensed Practical Nurses
- Nursing Assistants
This conference offers a unique opportunity for professionals to deepen their clinical knowledge, enhance their caregiving skills, and connect with a network of like-minded individuals who share a passion for compassionate, patient-centered care.
The content will address both clinical challenges and the emotional aspects of providing care at the end of life, ensuring that attendees feel equipped with the tools they need to deliver the highest standard of care. NCPDs & Category 1 Pharm Credits will be provided for qualifying content.
Submission Details
- Abstract submissions for oral presentations and posters will be accepted until January 18, 2027.
- Accepted Presenters will be notified by May 1, 2027.
- This is an in-person event. All posters and podium presentations will be live.
- Recordings will be made available soon after for individuals to purchase an on-demand conference.
- Presentations will be pre-recorded for the on-demand option.

Submit an Abstract for the Nessa Coyle Leadership Lecture
The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF) recognizes the importance of cultivating and enhancing leadership skills among hospice and palliative care nurses.
The Nessa Coyle Palliative Nursing Leadership Fund was established in 2016 in honor of Nessa Coyle, RN, PhD, FAAN, a pioneer in hospice and palliative care nursing. Its purpose is to develop and support leadership in hospice and palliative nurses from the bedside to the boardroom. The Nessa Coyle Leadership Lecture serves as an inspirational and public platform to bring insight and perspective on leadership from accomplished palliative nursing leaders to colleagues in palliative nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
This lecture is featured each year at the HPNA Annual Conference as a plenary session. The selected presenter of the Nessa Coyle Leadership Lecture is awarded complimentary conference registration, airfare, one night hotel, an award, and a $1,000 honorarium.
