Call for HPNA, HPNF, and HPCC Board Member Applications

HPNA, HPNF, and HPCC, three nonprofit boards, have agreed to streamline their recruitment efforts by adopting a single, unified application process. This collaborative approach is designed to make it easier for prospective board members to express interest, reduce duplication across organizations, and ensure a more efficient, equitable review of candidates. By working together, the boards aim to broaden their reach, attract diverse talent, and strengthen their collective impact in the community.

Within the application, candidates can indicate which board they would like to be considered for, expressing interest in the HPNA/HPNF and/or the HPCC Board. Once submitted, all applications will be evaluated by the governance committees representing each of the three boards, ensuring a coordinated and consistent review process.

If the initial application is determined to be eligible to advance in the process, the candidate will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with one or both of the governance committees. Candidates who move forward to the interview stage will be evaluated on their leadership experience and their ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the section of the application describing the role of the organization’s board members.

The 2027 Board Member Application deadline is June 1, 2026.

Call for HPCC Board Public Member Applications

The HPCC Board of Directors is also looking to fill the Public Member(s) position on the 2027 HPCC Board of Directors.

A public member serves as an independent representative of the broader community and brings an external perspective to the nonprofit’s governance. Unlike board members who may be directly connected to the organization’s programs, funding, or professional networks, public members are selected for their ability to reflect community interests, uphold transparency, and strengthen public trust. Their responsibilities typically include participating fully in board meetings, reviewing organizational policies, and offering objective insight into how decisions may affect the community the nonprofit serves. Public members also help ensure accountability by asking questions that center on fairness, accessibility, and ethical practice. While they may not have specialized expertise in the nonprofit’s field, their value lies in their impartiality, lived experience, and commitment to representing the public good.

The 2027 Public Member Application deadline is June 1, 2026.
