Module 1: Pain Definition and Classifications

This module is designed to equip you with foundational knowledge about pediatric pain, what it is, and how it can impact the child and family.  Additional modules will build upon this base to optimize the learner’s understanding of pain principles including assessment, management, and other considerations.

Module 2: Pain Assessment

Pain in children, especially those with serious illnesses, presents unique challenges and requires a specialized approach. This module is designed to equip you with foundational knowledge of pediatric pain and how to assess pain.

Module 3: Pharmacologic Pain Management

This module explores effective pharmacologic strategies for managing pediatric pain. Learn about medication options, dosing, and safety and ethical considerations to ensure compassionate and evidence-based care for children in pain.

Module 4: Nonpharmacologic Pain Management

This module explores essential concepts and strategies that can improve the quality of life for children in palliative care. The goal is to provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to confidently work with families to create effective pain management plans that support the unique needs of your patients and their families.

Module 5: Cultural Considerations

This module is designed to equip you with foundational knowledge about the impact of culture on pediatric pain management.
