After passing an examination, an individual is certified for four years. The renewal process at HPCC is called the Hospice and Palliative Accrual for Recertification (HPAR), which requires fulfilling practice or work hour requirements and accumulating required points through various professional activities. All activities are added and submitted online through your LearningPlan in our LearningBuilder software. CHPLN® and CHPNA® certificants have the option of using HPAR or testing to renew.

Scholarships

The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF) provides scholarships to nurses nationwide to cover the cost of certification fees and are valid for those earning a new Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC) certification or those who are renewing their current HPCC certification. HPNF accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
