HPNA on the Hill is a great opportunity to develop your advocacy skills, hear from policy experts how to have effective meetings with lawmakers. It is a chance to get started in advocacy or take your advocacy efforts to the next level and to network and learn from other HPNA advocates.
This event is open only to HPNA members.
The event will be held in the Rayburn House Office Building on the House side of Capitol Hill, and all participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodations. A list of recommended hotels near the training location is available here, and our policy team is familiar with Washington, D.C. and can answer any questions you have.
No advocacy experience is necessary to attend, but if you have met with legislative staff before, that is great! We will provide all the training you need in a webinar one month before the event and in the full-day training. All meetings will be done with groups and group leaders, and HPNA’s policy team will be there to guide you every step of the way.
HPNA will provide all materials you need for your meetings, including talking points and legislative asks, background materials, and leave-behind documents for legislators and staff.
In addition to the two full days of the training, September 21 and 22, there will be an hour-long webinar in August, and an optional post-event virtual meeting in October.
