HPNF’s 2024 Spring Fundraiser

Honeybees are fascinating creatures. They collaborate in a way that is hard for us to comprehend. The way they work together is so complete, in fact, that it really helps to think of a honeybee colony as a single organism. Similarly, hospice and palliative care nurses around the country collaborate to support the future of this vital profession.

Inspired by the importance and symbolism of the honeybee, the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF)’s spring fundraiser is designed to honor our hive. Though different from that of the honeybee, our hive consists of individuals, corporate partners, and foundations, who work together to ensure that funds are available for education and research to advance the hospice and palliative nursing specialties.

Without our hive, it would be impossible for HPNF to thrive. Through this support, HPNF will provide more than 50 awards, grants, and scholarships in 2024. Additionally, HPNF provided funding for the new Diversity in Health Care Video Series, as well as POLARIS RNPOLARIS APRN, and POLARIS Pain Management

Your support is sweet, and has the power to bee the change. Gifts can be made to HPNF’s spring fundraiser by clicking the donate button below! All proceeds will support HPNF.

Alejandro Lopez, RN

I couldn’t be more honored. I’ve been a hospice nurse for 10 years now, and this is definitely a certification that I’ve always kept my eye on. This will benefit me as not only a hospice nurse, but as a professional who is spreading knowledge about hospice and really focusing on making sure that everybody knows what a great benefit it is.

Thank you for the tremendous honor of receiving an Annual Assembly Scholarship! This support made it possible for me to attend my first Annual Assembly to present on a topic I care so much about both personally and professionally – caring for folks with intellectual disabilities. Palliative nursing plays a critical role in our healthcare teams – thank you for investing in me!

Receiving this scholarship will assist me in my goal of achieving a master's degree in nursing education. By educating new nurses, I hope to inspire new nurses to pursue a career in hospice, and continue to grow the number of nurses dedicated to providing excellent end of life care.
