Take Action on PCHETA!
S. 2243, The Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA) was recently reintroduced in the U.S. Senate by Senators Tammy Baldwin (WI) and Shelly Moore Capito, and HPNA has long supported this bipartisan legislation to address the healthcare workforce shortage and raise awareness of the importance of access to hospice and palliative care. HPNA’s advocacy team is working with the Patient Quality of Life Coalition (PQLC) Legislative Workgroup to advance PCHETA in this Congress, but we need your help in obtaining support from additional senators!
Please urge your senators to cosponsor this legislation by taking a few moments to send an e-mail through HPNA’s action center. We have already drafted a message for you, and we encourage you to personalize it with your own story. If your senator has already cosponsored the bill, a thank you message will be automatically populated for you to send.
We will continue to keep you apprised of developments as we work to move this key piece of legislation across the finish line. Please make sure you are signed up for our advocacy list, so you receive updates on PCHETA and all HPNA’s legislative and regulatory priorities.
As always, thank you for your support of HPNA’s advocacy work! If you have any questions, please contact our Health Policy Specialist, Sarah Potter, at sarahp@hpna.org.
