HPNA would like to congratulate Dr. Jessica A. Hausauer for her appointment to executive director of the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care (the Coalition), effective October 2, 2023!

HPNA is a long-standing member of the Coalition.

Dr. Hausauer brings a wealth of experience and expertise in creating strategic partnerships and leading regulatory and legislative advocacy. She received her PhD in sociology from Syracuse University and is a visionary leader with more than seven years of experience leading Minnesota Network of Hospice and Palliative Care. During her tenure there, she established a diversity, equity, and inclusion plan for the organization; increased member benefits without increasing costs; and increased net assets by 147%.

“We are excited to welcome Jessica as our new executive director,” said Ginger Marshall, Coalition board preside and CEO of HPNA, HPNF, and HPCC. “Her appointment comes at a crucial juncture as the coalition continues to amplify the voice of hospice and palliative care with initiatives involving advocacy, payment, quality, and research. Her proven leadership and transformative approach will help us continue to grow and strengthen our organizations. We have full confidence her leadership will enhance our ability to improve the care of patients and families living with serious illness.”
