As part of HPNF’s 25th anniversary celebrations, we will be spotlighting the 2023 HPNA and HPNF Board members. Learn more about our President Elect Lynn Reinke, PhD, MSN, ARNP-BC, FAAN, FCPN. Dr. Reinke lives in Utah, and is an Associate Professor and the Claire Dumke Ryberg, R.N. Presidential Endowed Chair for End-of-Life/Palliative Care at the University of Utah School of Nursing.

1. How has HPNA/HPNF supported you throughout your career?

“Two career highlights come to mind: 1. receiving the New Investigator Award in 2014; and 2. achieving Fellow status in Palliative Care Nursing in 2020. Both of these recognitions demonstrate my commitment to advancing the field of palliative care nursing.”

2. What inspired you to become a Board member?

“Becoming a board member has allowed me to apply my leadership skills and policy experience to soundly govern the organization and support us achieving our mission and vision.”

3. How do you want HPNA/HPNF to impact your patients and/or community?

“By preparing all nurses to be highly educated, skilled and competent to provide high quality palliative and hospice care to patients and their families. A strong and competent workforce impacts the entire healthcare community and raises the standard of nursing care.”

4. What is a fun fact about yourself?

“I love art and going to art museums around the U.S. and world.”
