Join your colleagues for a three-day, evidence-based, interactive clinical gathering that explores advancements in palliative nursing. Attendees at CPF will examine the latest best practices, advance their knowledge of caring for patients with serious illness, and network with other professionals within the hospice and palliative nursing specialty. 

The conference is open to all nurses seeking nursing continuing professional development and desiring to connect and engage with others who share a passion for palliative nursing. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, HPNA has decided to prioritize the health and safety of our members by moving CPF to a virtual format.

This preconference provides a framework to prepare, and a process to assess strengths and weaknesses of content, for the Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing (ACHPN®) exam. 8.75 NCPD hours and 4.0 hours Category 1 Pharm Credits will be awarded for successful completion of this course.

This interactive ½ day preconference will facilitate enhanced skills acquisition for hospice and palliative nurses caring for individuals with serious illness. We will demonstrate best practices for the clinical management of common symptoms seen in hospice and palliative care to include constipation, nausea & vomiting, dyspnea, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and oncology emergencies. 3.75 hours NCPD and 3.75 hours Category 1 Pharm Credits will be awarded for session successful completion.

This includes both communication with patients and families and communication between teams. Active learner engagement activities and case studies will provide opportunities for participants to apply knowledge and skills learned for future application into practice within the learner’s individual practice setting. 3.75 hours NCPD CE Credit will be awarded for session successful completion. Communication skills are the foundational cornerstones of effective palliative care.
