Learn more about seriously ill patient populations that benefit from advance care planning (ACP) conversations, effective communication techniques used to initiate ACP conversations with patients and families, and how to conduct values and goals of care patient/family interviews to facilitate ACP.

Dr. Seiko is an assistant professor at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon, and earned her PhD in nursing studying ethical issues in end-of-life nursing care. She is a Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Leadership Scholar, an HPNA Fellow in Palliative Care Nursing, and is active in palliative care and health services research. Dr. Seiko is the author of "Advance Care Planning: The Nurses' Role," published in 2017 in the American Journal of Nursing.
