IN-PERSON: Pain Management and Opioids

In partnership with the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), HPNA is offering this live in-person continuing education risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) program titled Pain Management and Opioids: Balancing Risks and Benefits on Thursday, September 19, 2019.

The curriculum was created by the Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE), and is newly updated to reflect the latest information. It expands upon the previous 2012 extended release (ER)/long-acting (LA) Opioid REMS and requires training be made available on immediate-release opioid analgesics.

Joe Shega, MD, and Kathleen Broglio, DNP, ANP-BC, ACHPN, CPE, FPCN, will be presenting this live program in an interesting and dynamic format, including practical clinical content as well as illustrative case studies to challenge your critical thinking. This program, accredited by both ANCC and ACCME, offers 2.5 hours of continuing education credit. Upon completion of this REMS-compliant educational activity, the learner will be considered a "completer" of the FDA-recommended, REMS-compliant training on opioid analgesics.

Registration/check-in available at 5:00 pm.
Dinner available for all registered participants at 5:00-6:00 pm.
Program starts promptly at 6:00 pm.
